AUDDIS

What is AUDDIS

AUDDIS stands for Automated Direct Debit Instruction Service. Traditionally when a Direct Debit Originator received a paper instruction from a payer the originator had to post the paper Direct Debit Instruction (DDI) to the bank to set up a Direct Debit. This of course takes time and costs money.

The AUDDIS process was intorduced to automate the process and allows you to send the Direct Debit Instruction to Bacs electronically.

Should everyone use AUDDIS

Absolutely yes. The benefits are considerable

  • You reduce the time from your customer signing a direct debit to the first collection
  • Reduces the administration and handling of direct debit instructions.
  • Reduces errors as the banks do not have to rekey the instruction on their systems. it is not uncommon for direct debits becoming lost int he post and thus the first collection fails.
  • save money on copying the signed direct debit and on postages

Can anyone use AUDDIS?

No, if you are not already an AUDDIS originator then you will need to :-

  • contact your sponsoring bank and inform them you would like to be an AUDDIS Originator
  • complete an AUDDIS application form
